Hi,

you didn't write that much what exactly the problem is on this specific page. Based on the debug output I assume that you get something like error 6030, which could be caused by the fact, that you're using silverlight5.1 (some pages only work well with 5.0). To switch the version just use:

sudo pipelight-plugin --disable silverlight5.1 --enable silverlight5.0

and the installation of silverlight5.0 should start.

If this doesn't help:

* what exactly is the problem on this page? does it show some error message/code?

* which user agent string are you using?

Here is the issue: no video can be played.
When you click on a preview, the player appears and there is a loading indicator.
But nothing happens, black screen...

I tried to user silverlight 5.0 using the command you gave.
I did not changed this observed behavior.

The user agent I am using is Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:15.0) Gecko/20120427 Firefox/15.0a1 ( given by http://fds-team.de/pipelight/)

Hi,

it might be possible that you've found another service that really required Microsoft signed graphic-card drivers, and doesn't work otherwise.

To be completely sure and check that there is nothing else going wrong, I would recommend to do the following steps:

* Switch to the pipelight-daily version

sudo apt-add-repository --remove ppa:mqchael/pipelight
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:mqchael/pipelight-daily
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

You should then see that pipelight has version 0.2.1 (not released yet), for example when you run:

dpkg --list | grep pipelight

Then please test the following steps:

* A blank screen could be related to the fact, that the core fonts license hasn't been agreed yet. See:

Hi,

it seems like this page indeed provides trailers, which are also DRM protected, and available from my location. That makes testing much easier. The bad news: It is indeed error 6030 (visible in the javaScript console, not anywhere else on the screen), and there is no known workaround yet.

Error 6030 is caused by pages, which require Microsoft signed graphic-card drivers to ensure that the output is delivered encrypted to the monitor. As there are no Microsoft signed graphic-card drivers for linux, we cannot implement the missing feature.

Nevertheless, the good news: We finally found an example of this bug which makes testing much easier! So far we only heard about it, but were not able to reproduce it, as all pages where we have access to don't trigger this issue. We will do some more testing and check if there is some kind of workaround possible.

I've marked this bug as an duplicate, as there are some other pages which also trigger error 6030 for the same reason.
