Hi,

I just wanted to check this site, but unfortunately there isn't any Silverlight loaded - probably because I don't have access from my location? Does this site or some specific movie also provide access from other countries?

We need some more information to help finding the problem.

* Is Pipelight installed correctly? You can verify that by going to some test site like http://bubblemark.com/silverlight2.html - if this doesn't work the problem is something completely different.

* Have you installed a user agent switcher? This is required to make the website think that you're using a Windows browser. See here for more information: https://answers.launchpad.net/pipelight/+faq/2351 . I recommend using one of the user agent switchers shown above.

* Probably this page is similar to katsomo.fi which wants windowlessmode to be enabled. Look here for instructions how to enable it: https://answers.launchpad.net/pipelight/+faq/2361

Pipelight is instal correctly, http://bubblemark.com/silverlight2.html is display perfect.

J use agent switcher, and set
Firefox 22/Windows: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:22.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/22.0

Under netflix-desktop work perfect.

But under firefox is black screen.

did you try out all the steps described in comment #1 ?

when http://bubblemark.com/silverlight2.html is displayed perfectly, then it has be either related to the the user agent switcher or the windowlessmode.

Can you try setting your user agent switcher to:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:15.0) Gecko/20120427 Firefox/15.0a1
and check out if this changes anything?

Can you try out another user agent switcher if you are not using one of the recommended ones?

Moreover start your browser from a terminal and look out for some message like:
[PIPELIGHT:WINDOWS] NPN_SetValue (npnfunctions.c:...) not implemented!
If you see such a message it will help to change windowlessmode to true as described in the FAQ linked here:

By the way, just saw that you are using Opera?

Opera support is only included in the latest repository version (not released yet) and still requires to manually change one configuration variable. But I assume you've already done that when http://bubblemark.com/silverlight2.html worked well - if not please also try the video streaming site with another browser.

When J enable windowlessmode and eventasynccall
It works under opera and firefox,

but Opera play only first film after running, when J probe next film is only black screen.

under ff switching films work, but very slow, ten secends, when the browser is not
responsive.

In logs J have much errors:

fixme:thread:NtQueryInformationThread info class 16 not supported yet
fixme:thread:NtQueryInformationThread info class 16 not supported yet

and
fixme:thread:GetThreadPreferredUILanguages 48, 0x63ec50, (nil) 0x63ec48

You can do so that the plugin does not block browser responsiveness

Hi,

its normal that it takes a bit longer than usual to unload the plugin. The problem is that Silverlight locks up when trying to unload the plugin - thats why we've implemented a method to detect such a freeze and kill the plugin. Most browsers should reload if this is the case.

The timeout until the plugin is killed is currently set to 5 seconds - probably we will add some option to set it to a lower value in new versions, if this is too long.

Concerning the issues with Opera:

Can you try to execute the plugin from the console and log the debug output? For example with:
opera &> ~/pipelight.log
And then upload pipelight.log.

I've already discovered that the Opera browser version I am testing with contains a use-after-free bug - but it should be possible to implement a workaround for that.

Hi pacman401,

Concerning the first page (tvnplayer.pl): based on the log file it might be possible that the problem is related to the stronger DRM protection on some streaming sites. Take a look at the following bug report:

We're currently working on a solution, which will be available soon - I would recommend to subscribe to the bug report above and test again after we have released the next version.

Theoretically the second page should work without problems on almost every system when using an appropriate user agent. Did you use try the FireFox 15 user agent in the list of recommended ones? And are you using the latest version of pipelight (just check for updates, it will automatically update pipelight aswell)?

If both ideas don't help, can you please use the same method as above and upload another log file for that page? If you have changed anything manually in your config please upload it, too.
