Bug Description

ocelot, open photo in pinta, resize, try to save with new name in different folder.

I can't reproduce this bug. From log files I see this was Pinta 1.0. Many crashes have been squashed during Pinta 1.3 cycle and it is very likely this bug was also fixed.

Can you please install Pinta daily build from PPA and test this one more time:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pinta-maintainers/pinta-daily/ubuntu
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install pinta

If you can reproduce the problem, please write detailed step-by-step instructions. Also type in what is your Ubuntu version, Pinta version and what are folder names you are trying to save into. If there any special non-English characters in path?
