Bug Description

Pinta 1.0 on Windows XP sp3

1. open new image 800 x 600
2. select Rectangle Select object
3. move mouse to near the left edge of canvas, but not to the edge itself (see green line on image) in intention to start selecting a rectangle
4. mouse icon is changed to the "move toolbar mouse icon" - the same icon appears like the one nearing the right site of toolbar (see red arrow)
5. when mouse left button is pressed and pulled (e.g. to the right site to canvas direction) then toolbar gets enlarged instead of canvas selected with Rectangle Select object.

I have tested the same problem on Pinta 1.0 on Ubuntu 11.04 and problem does NOT appear on Ubuntu. Windows version problem or some Gtk# version differences?

This sounds like bug #832395. Can you verify if that's the case? (i.e. the location where that mouse icon appears should be 2x the toolbar width, regardless of the canvas size or zoom level)

Yes I can confirm re-size toolbar mouse icon appears at 2x the toolbar width no matter of canvas size.
