Pinta canvas doesn't show object

Bug Description
I have installed pinta on Ubuntu 10.10 64 bit, mono for Debian 2.6.7-3ubuntu1;
When I start a new project, or open an existing picture, the canvas stays grey. I have attached a screenshot. As you can see the thumbnail next to the layer is rendered properly.
I have tried altering layer transparancy and the visible option, but I can't get it to work.

This is a known bug with upstream Pinta 0.4, and will be fixed in 0.5. Until then, please install the version found in the official Ubuntu repository, where this bug is fixed.
