Bug Description

I have downloaded latest master Pinta from Github Actions:
1. Installed Pinta on Windows 10.
2. At the end of installation left "Launch Pinta" checked and click on Finish button. PROBLEM appears. It looks like Pinta freezes in lauch time. It displays like attached picture. Also if I click on Pinta windows I get Windows message "Pinta is not responding" and options to "Close the program" or "Wait for the program to respond"

Is it also freezing if you launch it normally (instead of from the installer's launch option)?

And what was the last build that ran successfully for you?

I have force closed application after installation.
If I double click on Pinta.exe nothing happens, it looks like application does not even starts.

I have run installer one more time and the same after installation Pinta freezes with white window (as image in previous post). Re-running Pinta.exe file from file manager and nothing happens.

I have restarted Windows and did another round of install and double click in file manager. The same problem - at install launch white window and freeze. Double click on file manager and nothing happens.

By the way, I have installed Pinta in C:\Programs\Pinta directory and just in case I have set exception in default Windows' anti-virus program to not scan this directory. It looks like this is not anti-virus problem blocking the program.

I haven't seen such a behaviour in any program, that is why I have tried so many ways.

Hmm, I tried installing the latest build on my Windows 10 VM and that worked okay

A couple things to try:
- do a full uninstall of Pinta before re-installing
- Revert back to the last 2.2 build that did work for you, to see if we can track down where the problem was introduced

Hi,
I have now installed plenty of Pinta development from Github/Actions at least one on each of the page.
Before installing next one I have done full uninstall first.
And then came to the page 9 and I have the last working and first not working.

Thanks, that's very odd .. The "Build #2887" one is just an automated build that runs every week, so if that build stopped working then perhaps something changed with a dependency in the build machine's environment

Could you try the latest build, from https://github.com/PintaProject/Pinta/commit/02c1de956df45726f6d0fd441f97bc7d3c4d3f5c ?
There was a missing dll that caused Pinta to fail to load (from https://github.com/PintaProject/Pinta/issues/859), which could perhaps be the same issue.

I just got a new computer with Windows 11 and Pinta installs and starts up successfully.
Sorry, I can't test on old computer with Windows 10 anymore because I don't have it anymore.

If someone else can reproduce this issue, then leave it open, else I suggest to close the issue down.
