Bug Description

I have downloaded the latest Pinta 2.2-dev from: https://github.com/PintaProject/Pinta/actions/runs/7271320535/artifacts/1125760595

1. I unzip the file on Fedora Silverblue 39 and Ubuntu 23.10.
2. Do some drawing and close with "x" at right-top.

On Ubuntu: Text is written in three lines and in Fedora it is in two lines. It looks like in Fedora dialog is little big wider. I don't know if we can control the width of dialog, if yes, it would be nice to have the dialog width like it is in Fedora.

By the way:
- Fedora: Gtk4 yes; Gnome shell 45.2
- Ubuntu: Gtk4 yes; Gnome shell 45.1

If there is nothing we can do, like this settings are pulled from Linux distribution itself, then please just close this bug report.

I just like to see some consistency between systems I use (Fedora, Ubuntu, Windows).

We could explicitly set the dialog width, but the line wrapping could still be different depending on the system theme and fonts. Since the text contains an arbitrary image name ("Unsaved Image 1" in this case), I'm slightly hesitant about hard-coding a width since the text length can vary

I see your point... It can get nasty pretty quickly.

I have checked the Gimp way. I somehow like it... See attachment.

This issue probably now gets out of the Pinta v2.2 plan and the issue is pure cosmetic. Maybe mark the issue with Low priority and probably with Wishlist and in the future maybe we can get some idea how to better cope with this aesthetic problem.

importance: Undecided → Wishlist
status: New → Confirmed
