Which version of Pinta is this from?
Also, are there any steps to take in order to reproduce the issue?

version 2.0.2 it comes back when I paste it into a new canvas

Ah thanks, this was already fixed recently in the development builds (bug 1959598)

I'm not sure yet, as a new release of the GtkSharp library is also required first
However, development builds can be downloaded from GitHub, e.g. https://github.com/PintaProject/Pinta/actions/runs/2387214627 (requires a GitHub login to download)
