Points/dots are highlighted, suggesting that you should be able to just drag them around.
I might need some more details to understand the issue here - testing the curve tool, after drawing a line I was able to click and drag any of the control points, or click on the curve to start a new control point
It just creates new ones for me even though they do get highlighted.
This is Pinta 2.0.1 from manjaro's repos
Ah thanks - I thought it was the line/curve drawing tool being referred to, not the curves adjustment dialog. I can reproduce it
I have the same issue in 2.1.1 from flathub. Not being able to move the points makes adjusting luminosity curves really a pain.
