Pinta closes when clicking text tool

Clicking the text tool in the tool bar is closing Pinta whether or not I have an image already open. This happens every time I've clicked it. Operating system Windows 10.

Can you please write what is your Pinta version from Help | About menu.
Does any error appear when Pinta closes?

What is Gtk# and .NET installed (check Add/Remove programs).

Here, same error (with no message error) on windows 7 - Pinta 1.8 dev.
I will try with others version

I just tried with Pinta 1.7 and 1.6 and I can't use text with Pinta...

Do you by any chance having huge amount of fonts installed on Windows?

Could you also try with a GTK3 development build? There were some changes to how fonts are handled. (https://github.com/PintaProject/Pinta/actions/runs/684795287 - requires github login to download the build)

I checked the operation of the "Text" tool on the 1.8 assembly (https://github.com/PintaProject/Pinta/actions/runs/684795287). The error does not appear on Windows 10.

Had same problem with Pinta 1.7 on Windows 10. Pinta crashed with no errors when I clicked on the text tool button. The issue was resolved with preview version 1.8: https://github.com/PintaProject/Pinta/releases/tag/dev-preview-builds

Thanks for confirming! Marking as fixed for the GTK3 version of Pinta.
