Bug Description

I know in Gtk3-v2 change log
https://github.com/PintaProject/Pinta/blob/gtk3-v2/CHANGELOG.md
there is statement:
"Removed the Images pad, which is obsolete now that tabs are used (#153)."

But tabs where already available in 1.7 (that was the last version in last 5 years) and Images pad was still there.

My humble opinion is to give back Images pad, because there are useful, because in many times in my use case I use very different images and from image preview I can quickly jump to the right image I want to edit.

If you think Images pad is redundant, then maybe by default disable it in View | Tool Windows and only the ones that really need them, turn them on manually.

Image preview is also available in Gimp, where image preview is used for example on image tabs.

See attachment how useful image preview can be.

Can you please mark this issue as "wishlist".

I'm not sure I want to bring it back in its original form - it's a lot of wasted space in most cases, and duplicates a lot of the functionality in the tab bar. If the image preview is useful, we should look into doing something a bit different, like having the preview in the tab bar, or having a way to pop up the image previews (like the Windows taskbar can do for applications that have multiple windows)
