Bug Description

Really want Pinta to work but have never really had the chance to use. It always dies for me, within a minute. The functions I have briefly seen seems to be what I want.

Found this in a log:

A little isolated, no smb devices or cd/dvd mounted. Disk available.

Guess I have to try something else. Irfanview alternatives have changed since the last time.
.net seems to make no one happy

Could you try installing the latest Mono version from https://www.mono-project.com/download/stable/#download-lin?
This is likely a similar issue to bug 1786822 and other reported issues

Prefer to always use the mono version of the current dist. I think that
should always work? You have to been in the dependency hell? :)
If Pinta needs specific versions, shouldn't that be in dependencies?

Kenneth

Yes, it is an annoying dependency issue since the newer mono version isn't in the repositories for some distributions, like Ubuntu 18.04. The issues weren't present in older Mono versions too, so it was only an issue we started hearing about after Ubuntu 18.04 came out

If you don't want to upgrade the system's mono version, you could install the snap or flatpak package.
