Bug Description

Hi,

I update Pinta from stable PPA. Pinta 1.7 can't open on Linux Mint 20/Ubuntu 20.04. I share launch outputs below link.

It looks like something is going wrong with loading addins, which I assume you had installed with a previous version of Pinta? On my Ubuntu 20.04 VM I was able to install an add-in and restart Pinta successfully, though. I'll try setting up a Mint VM and do more testing there to see if I can reproduce it.

As a workaround, does removing the add-ins from the .config/mono.addins/addins folder in your home directory allow you to start Pinta successfully?

Also, what is the output of running 'apt search mono-addins' in a terminal? Perhaps Mint has a different version of Mono.Addins that's causing some issues

I remove mono.addins directory with following command and issue solved.

rm -rf ~/.config/mono.addins/

I installed Pinta (1.6) from the focal repository. Then I upgraded from stable ppa to Pinta 1.7. The issue may be due to this.

Thanks, I'll see if I can reproduce with those steps

I tried setting up a fresh Linux Mint 20 VM and couldn't reproduce the errors when installing add-ins using Pinta 1.6 and then upgrading to 1.7

From looking at the error logs, the crash looks like it occurs while fetching string translations for the add-ins. What language / locale is your system using?
