Can't switch tool from Lasso Select

Bug Description
When opening the program, Pinta selects the Lasso Select tool. I can change to another tool, but after a brief period of time (about half a second or so) Pinta automatically switches back to the Lasso Select tool.
I'm running Pinta 1.6 on Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS. Installed it from apt.

Figured out what was going on. This was due to an issue in Ubuntu's 4.13 kernel where the function key was stuck being repeated once per second. Updating to Ubuntu's 4.15.3 kernel fixed the problem.
