Bug Description

Not sure if one would categorize this as a bug actually...

Using KDE, the dialogs to manipulate the image often darkens the whole application such that the dialog is highlighted.
However, this makes the actual effect on the image less visible / gives a false impression of the effect.

The screenshot illustrates this. Although the dialog settings do not modify the image, it is darkened toghether with the rest of the application.
This is the default behaviour of KDE dialogs but maybe one can find a workaround for dialogs which preview effects.
Would be nice anyway.

Yeah, I'm not sure if there's too much we can do about how the window manager decides to display modal dialogs.

This affects Cinnamon desktop too! It is almost impossible to make changes to any picture using anything. I'm sure this didn't happen before. Please fix it.

After reading the second comment, I decided to do some investigating. This can be eliminated in Cinnamon 2.8 by doing the following.

1) Open Settings
2) Open 'Windows'
3) Select 'Behaviour'
4) Under the Window Focus heading, switch OFF 'Attach dialogue windows to the parent window'

This will completely cure the problem.
There may well be a similar setting for Gnome (I know this happens in Gnome) and KDE.
