Bug Description
Pinta dev. 1.7.0.159 on Ubuntu 14.04
1. New image 200 x 200.
2. Paint Bucket and paint it green (this step is not necesseary, but I will be able to easily explain the problem).
3. New image 200 x 200
4. Paint Bucket and paint it yellow (also step to make me easy to explain).
5. Click on first tab (to get to green image).
6. Rectangle Select and mark some area on canvas. (Do NOT crop or deselect selection).
7. Click on second tab (to get yellow image).
8. Rectangle Select and mark some area on canvas. (Also NOT crop or deselect selection).
9. Click on first tab (to get green image). Problem appears. It looks like blue selection handles got lost. Move mouse to one of the edge and move mouse little bit over the edge and sesize icon appears and blue handles are back again.
10. Click on second tab (to get to yellow image). And the same problem as in step 9. And resizing and image and blue handles are back again.
I also tested this problem in Pinta 1.6 from pinta-stable Ubuntu 14.04 PPA and it looks like most of the problem is also in 1.6 version - only resize icons do not appear, so problem is even little bit more serious in 1.6.
I think this is the same issue as #1424632
