Bug Description

Pinta latest development pinta-daily on Ubuntu 14.04.

Test 1:
1. Rectangle Select and mark some area on canvas.
2. From Selection Mode select Exclude. Mark some area on canvas that has some common selection with step 1. Works as expected.
3. Rectangle Select. Deselect All and Selection Mode to Replace (to clean for another test).

Test 2:
4. Rectangle Select and from Selection Mode select Exclude.
5. Mark some area on canvas and problem appears. There are no lines for selection only blue little rectangles to resize selection.
In my humble opinion first selection should be working independently of Selection Mode - this is working fine for Replace, Union and Xor.
But not working fine for Exclude and also for Intersect.

This seems to be working correctly in the latest 1.7 builds, likely from https://github.com/PintaProject/Pinta/commit/3f4b4b105ee6c777d5ce999f664049aeb0f3f002 and related commits.

Using an Exclude selection on a new image now shows the selection properly
