Reshaping Ellipse distorts into rectangle

Pinta 1.6-prerelease from pinta-daily PPA on Ubuntu 14.04.

Test 1
1. Click on Rectangle or Rounded Rectangle and draw object on canvas.
2. Click and hold somewhere on the rectangle (not on the edge) and pull. Object get chaged (distorted).
Works-fine

Test 2
1. Ellipse and draw ellipse on canvas.
2. Click and hold somewhere on the ellipse (not on the edge) and pull. Problem appears. I execpte to get ellipse distorted, but instead rectangle appears and gets distorted. See problem.png attachment.

How should ellipse get distorted?
In my opinion the half of ellipse should not change at all. The second part (the part where it is pulled) it should be distorted. See how_should_it_be_working.png image.

It looks like milestone is missing for this bug. Can you add 1.7 milestone please.

Retested and problem still appears in 1.7+r1113-202007280014~ubuntu18.04.1.

Confirmed, although I don't think this is a 1.7 blocker.

I re-run into this problem in Pinta 1.8-dev on Ubuntu 20.04:
