Bug Description

Pinta 1.6 daily PPA on Ubuntu 14.04.

1. Click on Rectangle Select to select this tool. But do not select anything on canvas.
2. From Selection Mode instead of default Replace select Xor.
3. Now Click on Selection Mode again (on Xor) and now somehow strange dialog appears. This kind of dialog should be opened if there are so many options that can't be displayed on one screen.

The same problem with Ellipse Select and Magic Want Select.

Compare this with Line/Curve drop down Dash option where this kind of problem does not appear.

I can only reproduce this if Pinta is maximized. I think the scrollbars probably appear because otherwise the menu would go past the top of the screen, so I'm not sure this is a bug?

This looks like a drop-down list DESIGN bug. I have compared Pinta vs. LibreOffice (see attachment). In Pinta current selection stays at current position of drop-down input box and displays all other options above or bellow. If there are too many options above and window is in maximum position then additional scroolbars appears. But in LibreOffice current selection does not stay at default input box position, but it just appears at the bottom where it belongs.

Just wondering is there maybe some option like drop-down list object setting to control how does drop-down list opens? If yes, can we change this default to behave like in LibreOffice?

If there is no option, then I am afraid we can't do much in Pinta, this is probably upstream design issue. Isn't it? I am just afraid for average Joe that he will get confused of this kind of design...

We can probably lower the bug status or if you think this is not a bug make it Invalid.

I'm not sure if there's a way to change the display, but it's worth looking into.
