I just had the same thing happen: after resuming the laptop, Pidgin said I had mail, so I opened the mail window, which said over multiple lines (all for the same account) that I had mail. I clicked on 'open all messages' in the email and Pidgin hung and then crashed.

I can confirm the same result when doing what Rocko did but double clicked a message rather than hitting 'open all messages'.

I'm not sure if this is still exactly the same bug, but pidgin crashes every time I resume the computer and try to open mail (in both Intrepid and Jaunty). Attached is an strace of it happening in Jaunty. In this particular case, I didn't have an internet connection but it still segfaulted.

This is with pidgin 1:2.5.3-0ubuntu2 and kernel 2.6.28-7.

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue? Please have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/download to know how to install that version. Thanks in advance.
