Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin

Pidgin doesn't appear to have a scalable (SVG) icon. This leads to very ugly results when using e.g. Gnome-do, which renders the program icon at a very large size.

To clarify, this bug is not about the notification area icon.

I put the pidgin starten on my desktop and scalabality was no problem. It scaled without loss of quality.

Well, it doesn't work for me. Attaching a screenshot that shows the bug on Hardy.

I'm setting this back to "new", please close again if you determine the fault is mine and not pidgin's. :)

To clarify, this worked for Spoker on Gutsy, but on Hardy, the icon is not scalable. Marked as a regression.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Could you try to reproduce the same with Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04? Thanks in advance.

Yes, this still happens on that same machine, with Ubuntu 8.10. There is
nothing relevant to icons when I do

    find ~ -iname '*pidgin*'

which would indicate it's not my fault, unless I've actually modified
the global install at some point, which I do not think I've done.

I'm using 9.04 and the bug is still present :-(. When using Gnome-do it doesn't seems to be using a SVG icon.
