avatars set by user are not visible

Bug Description
when I pick an avatar for a contact, I see that avatar in Pidgin, but not in screenlet. that's wrong.

Yes i have this too, when you set the custum icon in Pidgin the screenlet still uses the icon of the user.
My buddy avatars sometimes just disappear and suddenly reappear, very strange.
