Bug Description
First of all, the spec file from the RHEL source rpm doesn't work out-of-the-box on Fedora 12. A few patches generate rejects when the --fuzz=0 option is specified, and there doesn't appear to be an option to tell rpmbuild not to use that option when using %patch. I included a hacked spec file in the attachment which works around these rpmbuild issues. I couldn't get a sed command to return reliable results when parsing /etc/redhat-release though, so %redhatversion is statically set to 'fc12'.
Everything compiles fine as near as I can tell. The main problem is that mysql-test errors out with diff on PSEUDO_THREAD_ID (transcript & log are in the attachment). Additionally, it seems to end up with a different value on each test. This looks pretty serious to me, but I have no idea whether it is or not. I would think that the tests that error out should be disabled by the Percona patches if this is known/acceptable behavior though.
Thank you for reporting.
The version you used might be released without my review of patch code.
I have re-ported patches to 5.1.45 and this bug should be fixed already in the latest revision.
