Bug Description

MySQL Server version = Server version: 5.7.12-0ubuntu1 (Ubuntu)

xtrabackup --version = xtrabackup version 2.3.4 based on MySQL server 5.6.24 Linux (x86_64) (revision id: e80c779)

/etc/mysql/mysql.cnf = !includedir /etc/mysql/conf.d/ , !includedir /etc/mysql/mysql.conf.d/

lsb_release -a = Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Codename: xenial

Appears xtrabackup v2.3.4 wants to see and use MySQL version 5.6.x only!!!!!

@sergei.glushchenko must this be compiled from source? The version released in Xenial is ancient (2.2.3), and there appears to be no Xenial distro in the http://repo.percona.com/apt repo, and no Xenial binaries (2.4.2 or otherwise) available at https://www.percona.com/downloads/XtraBackup/.
