Bug Description
When taking a backup I want to include other files and/or directories in the tarball created by xtrabackup. The problem is that xtrabackup ignores files and directories in the datadir that it does consider to be database files and there is no option to specify them to be included.
To accomplish the goal, the script runs xtrabackup and then creates another tarball that includes the tarball created by xtrabackup and any other files/directories that it wants to include. This causes the backup to use twice as much disk space and to take double the time to complete.
The files/directories that are included contain metadata about the server (e.g. /etc/my.cnf and all of the files in /etc/mysql, fstab, mdadm.conf, list of EBS volumes, et al.)
Please add an option to xtrabackup to specify additional files/directories to include in the backup tarball.
