Bug #695906 is Fix Released, and we have the corresponding entries in 5.5.8 Release Notes http://www.mysqlperformanceblog.com/2011/02/16/percona-server-5-5-8-beta-release/ :

However, I still see the old names in the current 5.5 tree. It looks like the documented changes have not been actually implemented or merged.
