libmysqlclient16 and PHP 5.2.16 mysqli extension undefined version

With Percona-SQL-shared-compat 5.1.43 that comes with Percona repo, we get the below error trying to install php-mysqi extension on PHP 5.2.16

[root@utility ~]# php -v
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library
'/usr/lib64/php/modules/mysqli.so' - /usr/lib64/php/modules/mysqli.so:
symbol mysql_enable_rpl_parse, version libmysqlclient_16 not defined in file
libmysqlclient.so.16 with link time reference in Unknown on line 0

Installing Percona-Server-shared-compat-5.1.48 resolves the issue. Percona-SQL-shared compat should at least match?

Jervin,

Percona-SQL is old stuff with old name which should not be used any longer.
How do you suggest we fix it ?

I think repacking Percona-Server-shared-compat as Percona-SQL-shared-compat will help users which rely on the Percona repo and 5.0 Percona-SQL release, especially those with newer requirements for MySQL shared libs.
