Bug Description

If pid-file option is specified in this format:
pid-file=mysqld.pid
the initscript will not notice the server is actually running and it will timeout or in some cases even hang.

For example pid-file=/var/lib/mysql/mysqld.pid seems to work ok.
So the init script should be fixed to take this into account.
