CHANGE USER performance problem

Bug Description

I use persistent connections in my php application. On every request mysqli driver issues CHANGE USER command.
Execution of this command should be fast, but varies a lot and sometime takes up to 5 seconds to complete.

If thats help I use percona cloud and slow query log is available there. Agent Uuid for this server fd71dd95-ab3f-11e4-ae45-002590e9d463

Percona version:
mysqld Ver 5.6.22-71.0 for debian-linux-gnu on x86_64 (Percona Server (GPL), Release 71.0, Revision 726

Only operation which happens inside CHANGE USER is freeing statements. Is it possible what some of you connections create few statements/prepared statements/variables and others a lot?
