Bug Description

create_tmp_table() code is unaware of row_format=dynamic, and thus on-disk temp tables can be created in scenarios when it should not be.

I suspect this is more likely a feature request.

There are some more details about the issue, and reproducing it here, if interested (see last 5-ish comments):

This feature request is tracked at Currently there are no short-term plans to implement it.

I had an alpha branch for Percona Server 5.5 (.15 or thereabouts) that mostly implemented this, but I haven't finish debugging of all the corner cases (such as, IIRC, temp tables for GEOMETRY).

Since there is a blueprint, I am going to close this bug report as Invalid. Please track the blueprint. Thanks!
