Bug Description

Reported in bug 1108006:

scripts/mysqlbug.sh:
...
<email address hidden>"
...

It should point to a Percona email address instead. Not sure which one though. percona-discussion ?

Isn't it possible to report bugs to launchpad through email? If so, then probably that.

Also, reporting bug via mysqlbug may be much better than reporting directly since that provides lot more info like versioning etc. (and also launchpad doesn't allow for custom bug reporting forms).

This may make it untenable. However, having the output of mysqlbug to paste in a new bug can be useful as well.

I belive we should set up a special list for this, like
<email address hidden>.

I don't think mysqlbug is actually used to report bugs these days. Some people use it to get compilation flags just because they are used to it, though there's INFO_BIN which provides more info than mysqlbug.

So this is either Won't Fix or Wishlist. Setting to Wishlist for now, but I personally vote for Won't Fix. Improving something that no one actually uses doesn't worth the time.

We may want to look into crash-reporting/analysis things such as what
Mozilla/google uses/has.

@Stewart, If you mean Google Breakpad, yes, that would be better.
But that works only as a crash reporter IMO, not as a general bug
reporter. Well, Ubuntu also has apport for crash reporting.
Regarding breakpad, I think the integration is going to be
non-trivial.

But, again, both are automated reporting tools and I am not sure
if people are ready to submit crash data unless it is heavily
anonymised.

Also, regarding compilation flags, mysqlbug is broken wrt. that
since it doesn't report any flags passed to CMAKE. (there is a
separate bug report for that).
