Bug Description

Message: sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg → error code 1
package defect linux-headers-4.4.0-31-generic
installation never completed did verify checksum
I chose separate partitions for root swap and home
this may be the reason for failure
any advice?

I have chosen separate partition for installation (something else) and no swap.
The installation never ends.

It appears to be stalling on a kernel update as the ISO has 4.4.0-24, try not selecting to install updates during the install .. or possibly connecting via ethernet cable instead of wireless.
Then update post-install if necessary.
