Peppermint: installed Skype but the microphone does not work This is a deal breaker for me, Too bad, because I like the idea.

Bug Description
Under sound and video there is some buggy sound control written back in 1998-1999 that is of no help in resolving the issue of the microphone not recording sound in Skype. Without Skype the OS is useless to me.

SOLVED - finally got it to work after try a whole bunch of different settings. The sound control is not at all obvious. Lubuntu was worse. I had to actually install a control to fix that one, So many people use Skype, it should be included in any distro. I can't find it in most download packages and have to go directly to Skype.
