To do this "right", I think we first need to implement a layer system that allows for non-physical layers. That's quite a ways off.
Also, first, we need code that actually computes what the violation is. Presently we look at the extreme conditions. So, we know that there's a violation, but we don't actually calculate the magnitude of the violation.
