Bug Description

PCB manual page 67: "Make sure that each component in
the schematic has a footprint attribute that corresponds
to a footprint in the PCB library or a footprint you
plan on creating"

It is not defined what "footprint corresponds to a
footprint in the PCB library" means. Therefore it is
necessary to add a pointer where the user can learn what
this means.

For example, there is an entry called
"CK05_type_Capacitor" in PCB component library (PCB
component library is a window that pops up when you fire
up PCB). What should be in footprint= attribute for this
component?

Another example, there is a "DIL 14 300" package I
routinely use, but there is no corresponding entry in
PCB library for this - there is a bunch of 74xx family
entries instead. What is someone uses another chip, for
example NE592, that is not in the library? NE592 is also
in DIL 14 300

You seem to be largely commenting on issues related to gEDA,
rather than pcb. There is a short piece in the pcb manual on
using gEDA with pcb, but the specific details of that issue
are a matter for gEDA and the gEDA documentation.

As said, if it's a bug, it's a gschem bug.
