Bug Description

I have a few new components made long ago, with the old
library model.
These are worthwhile as they are flexible models.

A few corrections are made also to some components (pin
numbering notably)

I made the patch against release 20030815

Let me know if the diffs are not explicit or have
problems, I'll provide the full files.

Parts of this patch could be pushed (extending SIL resistor packs?), but I doubt anyone can review the Molex headers and other changes.

Hi,

I will split this diff into separate (per package type) patches.

Kind regards,

Bert Timmerman.

Hi,

With regards to the proposed changes to the TO5 package:

1) these changes seem to break the pin order from CCW (pcb lib is good) to CW (patch is wrong).

CCW/CW as viewed looking toward the pcb: the footprint, most datasheets I've come across show the pin order on the mounting face of the transistor (mirror image).

2) the proposed drill size is 20 mil (0.508 mm), while the pin diameter is 16 mil ... 21 mil (0.406 mm ... 0.535 mm) according to the JEDEC datasheet at:

http://www.jedec.org/sites/default/files/docs/archive/to/to-005.pdf

Current drill size in the footprint is 42 mil (1.0668 mm).

I think we should not change the TO5 package currently in pcb lib.

Kind regards,

Bert Timmerman.

Hi Bert,

This bug was submitted anonymously (in 2004 - on SourceForge), so you're unlikely to get a reply here unless you copy the guy (he left his email in the original bug report).

I'll leave it for you to do as you wish with the bug report, but I'd be inclined to close it as "Wont Fix" or "Invalid".

(Won't fix implies there is some problem still, Invalid implies the user was wrong to think this was a bug).

I'm not sure we want to be adding / changing PCB's internal library at this stage anyway - especially not removing / renaming components, as is the case with the SIL resistor array patch.
