Hi.

I have a pcb copy made from repository via git clone on debian.
The pcb do not view the translation in automatic form.

The output of `env | grep LANG` on shell bash returns:

slackware:
LANG=pt_BR.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=pt_BR.UTF-8

debian:
LANG=pt_BR.utf8
GDM_LANG=pt_BR.utf8

Thanks.

1. Can you please verify that the translation files were installed? You should search for files named "pcb.mo" in /usr/share/locale/pt_BR or /usr/local/share/locale/pt_BR

2. Are you running pcb from the shell? It's possible that your global system environment variables are set differently from those in the shell.

3. Can you try using the LC_MESSAGES environment variable?
$ LC_MESSAGES="pt_BR" pcb

git clone using the command:

git clone git://git.geda-project.org/pcb.git

./autogen

Replaced the old pt_BR.po with the new

./configure
make

Language pt_BR *not* enabled.

Is There an option to enable languages in pcb?

LC_MESSAGES="pt_BR.utf8" pcb work fine.

There is no .mo file in pcb compilation directory.
There is .gmo.

1. Can you please verify that the translation files were
installed? You should search for files named "pcb.mo" in
/usr/share/locale/pt_BR or /usr/local/share/locale/pt_BR

/usr/share/locale/pt_BR/LC_MESSAGES

2. Are you running pcb from the shell? It's possible that
your global system environment variables are set differently
from those in the shell.

gnome terminal 3.14.1

3. Can you try using the LC_MESSAGES environment variable?
$ LC_MESSAGES="pt_BR" pcb

LC_MESSAGES="pt_BR" pcb

(process:1791): Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by C library
unknown flag `autoburiedvias'

I do not "make install"

Run "msgfmt pt_BR.po" and was generated a file called "messages.mo"

Rename messages.mo to pcb.mo and put it in /usr/share/locale/pt_BR/LC_MESSAGES

Run `LC_MESSAGES="pt_BR.utf8" pcb`

It is all OK.

Need make install for `LC_MESSAGES="pt_BR.utf8" pcb`.
`LC_MESSAGES="pt_BR.utf8" ./pcb` do not work.

Okay. We can work on the mechanics of using the translation another time. For now, are you able to verify that the translation is correct? If correct, we can include the update in the next release of pcb.

I uploaded these translations to LaunchPad. Maybe it will be easier to work on them through that interface?

I'm going to merge the updated file into the source tree.
