regression: photo -mode does not honor outline anymore

Bug Description

The photo realistic export used to cut the photo resist at the outline. This allowed me to produce nice pseudo 3D images wuth just a few additional touches. However, the current version of pcb lets the solder resist flow up to the border of the view window.

Proposed resolution: Reconstitute the way solder mask gets cut by the physical edge of the board.

You're talking about the png exporter?

I just tried a sample board, and I don't see this behavior. Can you help me reproduce it?

Yes, this is about the png exporter in photo realistic mode.
This is the command I use:
pcb -x png --photo-mode --dpi 600 --use-alpha --only-visible --outfile out.png ../ioboard.pcb

I was able to pinpoint the condition which triggers ignorance of the outline. In the offending layout the lines which constitute the outline were locked -- Dooh!.
In hindsight this looks logical. Still I think, it deviates from the principle of least surprise. IMHO, the png exporter should respect the outline even when the lines are tagged as 'locked'.

Hi-

Sorry for the delay, apparently commenting on the bug report isn't sufficient to subscribe you to the notifications.

So, I tried this also, with your command, and I'm still not able to reproduce. The attached screenshot shows on the right the png output generated using your command, and on the left, the board in pcb, showing that one of the lines is locked. I've locked the others as well, but I can only shown the one.

I'm using git master. I'm not positive, but I don't think we've touched the png exporter since the last release.

Can you give me a screen shot or an example board that produces the problem?

Thanks,
--Chad

Hi Kai-Martin,

Can you please state the pcb version you are running, and upload a minimal test file, and a ~300 dpi screenshot.

TIA and kind regards,

Bert Timmerman.
