Bug Description

Works on 1.0, does not work 1.1 beta. All pear packages apparently affected. Download works OK, installation fails.

Are you using Lucid or CentOS? What about the installation is failing?

Hi Aaron,

Sorry I should have been more clear. I'm using the AWS AMI 1.1 beta (32-bit), which I believe is a Lucid build.

pear install fails silently; i.e. it downloads the package successfully and it seems as if everything is fine, but in actual fact the package is not installed.

It works just fine on the equivalent 1.0 AMI. I did spend about 15-20 mins trying to persuade it on the 1.1beta but unfortunately at no avail.

Do let me know if I can provide any more details.
