Elementary terminal doesn't ring the bell

Bug Description

On Luna, I used to run "ping -a something.com" to know if the connection is up and running or not anytime. Now I updated to Freya, the bell char doesn't makes the "alert" sound.

According to Wikipedia, `echo -e "\a"` should do the same.

The bell is intentionally disabled. You can restore it with this command:

gsettings set org.pantheon.terminal.settings audible-bell true

Changed in pantheon-terminal:
status: New → Invalid

Is it possible to know why you have decided to prevent this default behavior? It's just curiosity.
