Sorting of images is inconsistent with file manager

Bug Description

I found an issue in design of image viewers. To reproduce:
1. In file manager sort your images by something else than name e.g. date.
2. Open one of these images.
3. In image viewer switch to the next image.
4. The next image is "next by name", but it should be "next by current order in file manager". It's weird for users.

Additional question: what if you didn't open a pic from file manager?

Personally I thought it affected mostly image _viewers_, like eog.

How can this have low priority?
I'm having daily having a hard time with this, in OS X it's very easy to go through images on disk, in the order used in the Finder, and delete for example the blurry ones. This is very painful with Photos, it takes a while before it enables going to a next and previous photo, it has it's own sorting and you can't delete photos. Is there another workflow I'm not aware of?
