Bug Description

Currently the way to email a photo is very hard to discern (File -> Send To... then confusion then finally select email option). There could be an email icon next to the publish icon in the toolbar to make this easier for people to find.

Also, if "Send To..." is chosen, shouldn't the dialog boxes be reversed? Logically wouldn't it make more sense to select where you want to send it first then choose the file format next if the menu item says "Send To..." ?

summary: - Implement sharing of photos by email

File -> Send To was designed specifically for nautilus-sendto, which is not merely for emailing, but also for archiving, burning to CD, and more. I agree, a dedicated "Email To" option would be nice, but we felt that would be duplicating the effort already put into nautilus-sendto and elected to take advantage of that.

As far as the steps, that's dictated by nautilus-sendto, which requires the files be prepared and ready before execution. Shotwell needs to export those photos (to commit edits and resize as the user desires), which is why that dialog comes first.

Gotcha Jim, so maybe just a wishlist request then?

I'll leave that decision to the maintainers, I'm just trying to assist with background information.
