Bug Description

The keys marked U, I, O, P, J, K, L, ;, M, ., + seems to have function permanently switched on, and the only way to get these keys to type their proper characters is to press the function key while typing, this problem only began after the latest update (18//4/2/13).

This was affecting me too, rebooting sets num lock back on. Is there anyway to permanently turn it off or fix this?

Corentin, according to this report, num lock is not being remembered. I'm seeing a lot of bug reports where people with the keyboards we discussed are not able to figure out that num lock has to be turned off for their keyboard to perform as expected. This makes me reconsider our decision to have num lock ON by default. Will you submit a branch that changes it to OFF by default?

The settings are only remembered if the user set it off on the greeter screen, not on the desktop.
I pushed a branch sat has this off by default
