Column-mode in panthon-files weird behavior

Bug Description
While in in column-mode and if you opted to double-click on files to open them you need to double-click on folders to view their content.
The correct behavior should be that in column mode you click on folders once to open the column, and then double-click on files to open them.
In addition, sometimes contents don't show up (not sure if I should file this as a separate bug).

I suppose you could regard clicking on a folder in column mode as akin to clicking on an expander in list mode in which case the reporter has a point. Presumably double-clicking on a folder would open it as the root of the view - the same as in list view?
