Bug Description

If you use dconf-editor to set 'minimum-zoom-level' for list view to 'smallest' you can then zoom down to smallest in Files, but if you close Files and reopen it the zoom level will reset to 'small'.

I tried changing 'default-zoom-level' and 'zoom-level', the same thing happens. You can't set the zoom level to smallest and keep it like that. It will reset to small.

To clarify, when Files re-opens it displays at zoom-level "small" even though the minimum zoom-level is still "smallest" and it was displaying at "smallest" when closed.

There is also an issue if icon-view is displayed at "smallest" - when it re-opens it appears messed up until the zoomed in and out again.

So there won't be a solution to this any time soon?

It depends on what you mean by soon. It should be fixed by the next release of elementaryos. The available resources are very limited and a judgement has to be made as to priority. I have marked this bug as bitesize in case a passing dev would like to contribute a fix.
