Bug Description

To reproduce inconsistency:

$ mkdir ~/test/
$ mkdir ~/test/1/
$ touch ~/test/2.txt
$ mkdir ~/test/3/

Navigate to ~/test/ in pantheon-files. Items are sorted in the following order:

~/test/1/
~/test/3/
~/test/2.txt

(Directories are sorted before files, not respecting alphabetical order.)

Open Scratch. Click "Open file." Navigate to ~/test/

~/test/1/
~/test/2.txt
~/test/3/

(Directories are sorted in among the files, respecting alphabetical order.)

Oh, apologies! I'm not trying to be a jerk. I just didn't know if bugs from Freya would be carried over to Loki, and didn't think it would hurt.

Thanks!

That OK. Bugs remain visible over releases. It is possible to target them at certain releases but this is rarely done. It may take some time (years possibly) for them to be fixed if they are wishlist or not critical, even after marking as "confirmed". In this case, it is being considered whether to add a context menu option to choose whether Files should sort folders first. If you want to change this in the filechooser you need to change the gtk filechooser setting.
