files interprets folders with slashes in the name as path address

Bug Description

When a folder has slashes in the name (ie, with dates formatted 01/01/2001), files will read this as the file path and be unable to open the directory.

How are you creating these files? Are they on a Windows machine?

They were created on a friend's Mac then shared via his Lacie drive over the network.
