Bug Description

When I connect to a remote server via ssh, and when my ssh connection is lost (e.g. due to bad wifi connection), Pantheon Files crashes. After force-quitting, I cannot directly reopen an instance of Files via Plank, but when using mouse right-click on the icon on Plank and choose New Window it does open a new window and Files still displays the lost connection. When I try to access the server again through the open link in Files it crashes again. I can however disconnect first and than reconnect to the server and everything works again.

Could be related, but in my case it's specific to when I lose my internet connection. However, I am having some trouble now to reproduce the behavior previously described. When I lose my internet connection (by unplugging the cable) Files eventually pops up a message saying "Files is not responding" > Force quit / Wait. If I Force quit I can reopen without the work-around described in the previous post. If a choose Wait and plug in the ethernet cable, it starts working again after a while. I am using Freya and installed all recent updates.

I'm experiencing something similar, but not quite the same. To avoid posting duplicate bug reports, I'll just explain it here.

In my case, I connect to the SSH server, open up the directory with some images, right click an image, open it up. Everything works fine. Then, I try to right click on the second image and Pantheon Files just eats up my entire CPU (htop shows 100% next to the pantheon-files process) and I can't do a thing but to force quit it and re-open it, re-connect to the SSH server and re-open the directory I was working in previously.

I have recreated this right now by running pantheon-files from the terminal to see if I get any errors thrown at the terminal, but nothing out of the ordinary showed up.

I cannot reproduce the bug mentioned be aleksandr, using a recent Files version (r2048) but that may be dependent on the kind of images and the application they are opened in.

The linked branch is intended to handle network connections better, including when they unexpectedly disconnect and reconnect.
