Files - Thumbnails update are slow and stop show thumbnails

Bug Description

Scenario:
In one folder with more than 215 image files, and more 23 folders inside, also with images

Operations executed:
* Deleting files with Shift+Del
* Move files inside other folders

Result:

* The Files application is slow to update the thumbnails of the images
* The focus is lost, appearing on top, on bottom, etc...
* After some delete operations, the thumbnails is not showing more

Please could you confirm what device the files are located on? i.e. local hard drive, USB drive, network storage etc? This could affect speed and thumbnailing. However, this should not happen for local hard drives.

Can you give an idea of what you mean by 'slow'?

I also assume you have a reasonably powerful computer, are not short of disc space or RAM, and are not performing other cpu intensive tasks at the same time?

Performance seems reasonably fast with an i5 processor and SSD. Using USB2 memory is noticeably slower of course but still not unreasonable.

Note that because of memory leaks in the version you were using, if you had Files open for a long time and had been moving very large numbers of files you could be running out of memory, in which case closing and reopening FIles should help. The memory leaks are in the process of being fixed.
