Bug Description

On startup the view switcher widget always defaults to icon view, regardless of the actual view remembered from last time and displayed on startup. See attached screencast.

Tested on revision 1683.

I cannot reproduce this (on a comparatively slow 32-bit machine rev 1687) so it may be a timing issue.
